What is Security Booster?
Security Booster is a program that will protect your Windows and
Internet security and privacy. Its fully automatic Auto Tune feature
secures your security and privacy settings with just a few clicks. It
also features a built in File Shredder feature that will securely shred
and delete your files. Files deleted using the usual Delete option are
not deleted safely and could still be recovered and exposed to intruders.
Security Booster also has complete personalization and customization
features for advanced users to customize their security settings according
to their preference.

Is Security Booster compatible with my Windows
version?
Security Booster runs on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP.

Is Security Booster compatible with Windows XP?
Yes.

Is Security Booster compatible with other firewall
and security programs?
Yes.

I am worried that Security Booster will conflict
with my personal security settings.
Using the Auto Tune technology, Security Booster will determine the
best set of security options to be applied on your system. However, in
the case that you do not like or prefer these settings, you could always
go in and configure by yourself the options you wish. You can gain access
to all settings and configure your personal security settings from Manual
Setting and Options.
What is the difference between persistent and session
cookies?
Persistent cookies are cookies that "persist" or reside on
your system even after you have closed your browser. Such cookies contain
information that can be used to personalize your experience for a particular
web site the next time you visit it. Examples would be online community
and discussion boards. Unfortunately, such information could also be
gathered by hackers and malicious programs and disclose your personal
information.
Session cookies are cookies that exist only for a particular "session"
or logon. These cookies are deleted automatically the moment you close
your browser or choose logout/exit from the web site. Examples would be
online banking services. Such cookies are usually safe as they are automatically
deleted from your system the moment you exit from the sites.
Persistent and session cookies differ as their life span and lifetime
are different.

Why does Security Booster still delete contents
of my Windows Temporary Folder even though I have unchecked the option
to do so?
Security Booster deletes the contents of your Windows Temporary Folder
as your preset size limit for the Windows Temporary Folder has already
been exceeded. To prevent this from happening, set the size limit to
the highest (100MB) by choosing 100 from the drop down list in Manual
Setting> Windows Security.
Security Booster does not seem to erase/delete several
items from my Internet Explorer History and Temporary Files folder.
Under normal situations, Security Booster will delete and clear all items/files
from the Internet Explorer History and Temporary Files folder list. However,
several items/files from these cache are very closely tied in to your
operating system and deleting such files could cause other problems. As
such Security Booster will not delete these files to preserve system integrity
and stability. These files are probably needed and linked to other programs
that are using it regularly such as Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook
for instance.

I think I have downloaded Security Booster, but
I can't find it. Where is it?
After you have downloaded the program, locate the folder where you
saved the file. Once located, double click on the file to begin installation.
If you could not remember or can not locate the folder where you saved
the installation file:
- Click on the Windows "Start" Button
- Select "Search" and enter in sb10.exe
- The search wizard will return the result of the search.
-
Double
click on the search results and you will then be able to locate the
folder and begin installation of Security Booster.

I keep getting an annoying message that prompts
me "Do you want to allow software such as ActiveX controls and plug-ins
to run?"
This message is due to the fact that Security Booster has secured your
ActiveX security settings in Internet Explorer. Running unknown ActiveX
controls and plug ins is unsafe and could cause intruders to plant malicious
programs in seemingly benign web sites and lead you to their sites and
have you run them unknowingly. This could result in spyware, trojans and
backdoor programs being installed on your system.
If you find the message annoying you could disable it by going to Manual
Setting>Internet Security and uncheck the option "Disable ActiveX
control". Click on the Save button followed by the Quick Secure button.

Q11: What
are the differences between Internet Explorer Typed URLs, Temporary
Files Folder and History list?
All of the items above are system
cache that will store your online and surfing privacy and history. Without
deleting these on a regular basis, you are exposing your personal information
and online habits to would-be
intruders and unauthorized
personnel.
Typed URLs list stores your recently "typed" URLs from the drop
down list in Internet Explorer. It usually stores the list of sites that you
have visited.
Temporary Files Folder contains all Internet files cached on your system such
as HTML files, lnternet graphic files, ActiveX controls, Email fragments, etc.
Besides exposing your Internet privacy, these files also take up valuable hard
disk space unnecessarily.
History list is the list of sites that you have visited using Internet Explorer
for a certain amount of time (usually a week or a month).

I get a "Your Recycle Bin Format is invalid.
Do you wish to continue" message when running Auto Tune or Quick
Secure.
This message occurs as you have multiple operating systems installed.
On some systems an additional security message such as above could occur,
asking confirmation from you if you wish to empty all Recycle Bins on
all operating systems. Select 'Yes' to empty all Recycle Bins or select
'No' if you are unsure if you wished to empty other Recycle Bins.

After running Security Booster, I received the message "Do you
want to allow software such as ActiveX controls and plug-ins to run?" whenever
I surf the Internet. What should I do?
Security Booster blocks and prevents any potential loopholes and backdoors that
hackers might use to launch attacks on your system. ActiveX controls
and plug-ins are programs, embedded in your browser. These controls and plug-ins
may be used by hackers to attack and compromise your Internet Security and Privacy.
Hence, during AutoTune, Security Booster sets the running of these controls and
plug-ins to prompt, in order to safeguard your security.
If you wish to enable the running of ActiveX controls and plug-ins automatically,
follow the steps below:
1. Open Security Booster
2. Click on Manual setting
3. Click on Internet Security
4. Uncheck "Disable ActiveX Control"
5. Run Secure Now
